Singles, twins and triple rooms With its open fireplace and antique furniture, the restaurant creates a feeling of old-world charm. Locally produced cheese, herbs and spices are available for purchase at Grotli Høyfjellshotell?s cosy café. . . The first generation of Grotli folk headed here in 1880 to run what was then a state mountain lodge, built ten years earlier as part of the roadbuilding across the mountains from Skjåk to Stryn and Geiranger. Once the roads were completed, Grotli became a communications hub at the crossroads between east and west, with a post office, telephone exchange and bus interchange ? and the hotel was constructed between 1903 and 1905. The oldest, original part of the hotel still welcomes guests with its cosy sitting room, bar and dining rooms. The past lives on in the very fabric of the hotel, with the walls presenting its history from the first generation that put down roots here to the 5th, 6th and 7th generations who extend a warm mountain welcome to Grotli today!
